USAJOBS Resume (or Resumix) format is widely used by many announcements for Federal Government positions and similar to other federal job application formats, USAJOBS has its own limitations and requirements. Your materials must meet the required format and keywords criteria to be considered by the automated systems. USAJOBS hosts many thousands of job applications for a variety of federal job openings in the U.S. and around the world.
Online formats can be very restrictive and each has different format requirements. If you are not computer literate, they can also be very difficult to complete correctly. If not done correctly with the required format and character limitations, your USAJOBS application may end up being automatically denied. You need to portray your story in a specific way - one that is acceptable to the computer screening software as well as the hiring manager.

- The additional information section, where you get to tell about your professional summary, awards, areas of expertise, and more allows for a generous 20,000 characters. This additional information section is the largest of the popular formats.
Look out for system timeouts. If you enter your information "live" on screen, you could lose it. It's much more efficient to have all of your information prepared in such as way that you can simply copy and paste the relevant sections as needed.
